Land Rover Discovery 4 Armored Vehicle

Land Rover has just released their Discovery 4 Armored Vehicle package, for those customers living life on the edge. The Discovery 4 Armored comes with engine upgrades over the previous Discovery 3 model - a 5.0 liter LR-V8 engine, replacing the previous 2.7 liter V6.

That 5.0 liter V8 is good for a 0 to 62 mph time of 10.6 seconds. If that sounds a bit sluggish, keep in mind the Discovery 4 has a curb weight of 7826 lbs.

Developed by security specialists Centigon, the armor fitting "includes ballistic steel plates for high-velocity ballistics as well…

Jaguar Makes Vanity Fair Top List

Vanity Fair Magazine has picked their Top Five vehicles for 2010. Who made the list? Jaguar and the all new XJ, of course.

Automotive writer for the prestigious periodical, Brett Berk, gave his own rundown of the Jaguar XJ luxury automobile:

Its cabin is roomy, well-appointed, and stylish... Its ride is as creamy and firm as 3,400 pounds of artisanal butter. And even the entry-level V-8-never mind the blown Supercharged model, or the schmancy Supersport with the ultra blow-out-is powerful enough to pass anything on the road with ease, including a passel of eructating Harleys, as I did on…

Tuners Take Over Land Rover Evoque

Land Rover's Range Rover Evoque isn't even on sale yet, but that hasn't stopped foreign tuners like Project Kahn from releasing a new tuning program and specifications for the sporty crossover. While the company is keeping quiet on most details, images released online reveals the Evoque five-door will feature extended fender flares, two-tone paint scheme, prominent Cosworth badging, and massive 20-inch wheels.

Under the hood, power for the tuned Evoque will likely be provided by a modified version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. No word on what the output will be, but the typical model…

Jaguar XF Wins Design of the Year

The Jaguar XF was recently awarded Fleet World's "Design Of the Year Award." This is the second year in a row the automaker has been presented with this award.
The Jaguar XF has seen world wide recognition since its September unveiling, picking up 12 prestigious international awards. Jaguar's Chairman of Judges George Emerson commented:

"The Jaguar C-XF won the Editor's Award in last year's Fleet World Honors largely on the strength of its appearance - a quite stunning car to look at. With XF, when you get inside the cabin and feel the quality, then drive it…

Land Rover In The Mud

Land Rover's West Midlands factory, located in the UK, holds the company's infamous Jungle Track. It contains every off-road hazard one could think of - with the exception of dry rock beds and sand.

"Never put your feet where your head hasn't been first and never put your vehicle where your feet haven't been," instructed Malcolm Ainsley, a former Range Rover engineer and now instructor at the Jungle Track.

The Range Rover began in1970 as Land Rover's upmarket "workhorse" - complete with rubber mats and a bare bones interior. These days it's a serious luxury car…

Jaguar XF Black Cat

Jaguar has let the cat out of the bag - the Black Cat. And if you want your Jaguar looking more snarling, the people in Coventry have a solution. The all new XF Black Pack removes Jaguar's sport sedan chrome accents in an attempt to give the four-door an even fiercer, more menacing look.

The Black Pack consists of 20-inch Draco wheels finished with dark-grey centers with diamond turned rim sections. Apart from the custom rolling stock, the Black Pack also strips the car of most chrome accents, replacing most exterior trim with a gloss black finish.

Additionally, buyers can…

Land Rover Range Rover Sport Body Kits

Land Rover is celebrating Range Rover's 40th anniversary, and to commemorate this event, Swiss tuner Mansory is releasing an all new, and very intense, Range Rover Sport.

Mansory begins with a modest boost in power for all engine variants, both diesels and gas, on the Sport - up to 30 horsepower. Power is uprated by means of a new sport air filter, ECU-optimization and a new sport exhaust system.

Mansory adds in more impressive aerodynamics thanks to a kit made of PU-RIM plastic components. The front Range Rover Sport includes a new spoiler with vertical LED daytime running lights, along…

Jaguar Hybrid Turbine Engine

When you think hybrid, a small, fuel efficient engine probably comes to mind. But what about a large turbine that has the capability to reach 205 miles per hour? This is the technology Jaguar is working on with their all new C-X75 concept.

According to The New York Times: A "track" driving mode provides additional performance and power, Jaguar said, when supplemental power is needed directly to the wheel motors. In addition to the 780 total horsepower provided by the wheel motors, the system also produces a reported 1,180 foot-pounds of torque.

The car also has a center-mounted, 188-horsepower…
