Love the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque? You aren't alone. In fact, demand for the crossover is so high that the British automaker confirmed today that they'll boost production by 33 percent to deliver more inventory to U.S. dealerships. Beginning in September, American consumers will have access to 1,000 units per month as opposed to the 750 per month previous allocated for the United States.
This news doesn't surprise us in the least. It's nearly impossible to find anything bad to say about the Evoque. After all, at the end of the last year (it's very first year on the market), Motor Trend gave it the title of SUV of the Year, and went on to say that it "Hits all the marks. It's irresistibly stylish and loaded with standard features including Land Rover's best infotainment system yet. It gets significantly better fuel economy than any other Land Rover product without sacrificing performance; retains an off-road prowess that would embarrass most crossovers; and offers it all in a compact, fun-to-drive, and easy-to-park package."1
And, well, we're certainly not going to argue with that.
The Evoque checks off all the boxes on the list and then some, inspiring drivers and car enthusiasts to expect more from their vehicles. It's so popular, it's helped Land Rover surge in popularity this year, selling 4,355 units in the first half of 2012. That's nearly a quarter of Land Rover's 20,991 units in all, a 21 percent gain over the same time last year. The automaker expects that demand will easy meet increased production.
