You might think that a luxury giant like Jaguar would stick to a formula they've perfected: coupes and sedans (like the impressively styled Jaguar XF). But, then, that's where you'd be wrong. It appears that Jaguar is taking their formula and applying it to a whole new luxury segment: the crossover.
Luxury shoppers have proven to be pretty big fans of this segment as of late. The X6, Q5 and Cayenne are stylish performers, and people can't seem to get enough of them. And anyway, rumor has it that Jaguar will soon join the fray, with an as-of-yet unnamed compact crossover that will borrow underpinnings from the brand's sister crossover, the Evoque.
At least, that's what Jaguar Global brand direction Adrian Hallmark told Autocar at the Geneva Motor Show. He also hinted at seven significant new products that will be revealed in the next two years. Meanwhile, parent company Tata Motors recently announced that they'd be doubling their annual investment in the British automaker, giving them the financial freedom to further expand their lineup. Maybe even a sedan to compete with the popular 3-series? Only time will tell.
